The Grow & Bloom Story
I'm Ann, and I got into gardening when my kids were little and I desperately needed time to myself. After they fell asleep, I'd pull on my headtorch and head outside for some night-gardening. Those quiet moments became a refuge — simple, peaceful, and unexpectedly joyful.
I loved making things: garden beds cobbled together from whatever materials were lying around, then experimenting with planting palettes, colour, texture, and form. But what really hooked me was watching things grow, and soon I found myself completely absorbed in the slow delight of raising plants from seed.
Studying garden design deepened that fascination, and these days, one of my greatest pleasures is noticing the tiny details in a garden — a new bud, the way light hits a leaf, the shifting mood of the space. Gardens move through the year with such subtlety, and I love sharing that rhythm with other people. There's nothing better than walking through a garden with someone and seeing what's thriving, what's changing, and what's possible.
That's why I started Grow & Bloom Eltham. I work with people who want gentle guidance, not judgment. Whether you're new to gardening, coming back after years of being too busy, or simply feeling overwhelmed and unsure what next steps to take, I'm here to help you reconnect with your garden — one step, one season, one observation at a time.
